As we enter into the warmer weather of spring, some of the most beautiful floral we see begins to emerge in the form of bridal bouquets and large centerpieces. The variety of combinations is truly mind blowing. Our florists seriously know what they are doing. We have made a list of our favorite flowers for the spring time and the ones that we believe provide the biggest “WOW” factor in terms of a bouquet.

Peonies

These are the perfect spring flower because they are at their beauty peak from April through July. They bloom in a number of colors so your options are really diverse. The most common colors are pink, peach, white and maroon. They are usually the sign that spring has arrived when they bloom. They are very easy flowers to work with which will make your florist let out a sign of relief when you let her know these are the flowers you want to focus on. Peonies can thrive in a zero care climate which make them extremely suitable for a bouquet of any kind for any type of ceremony.

Anemones

These are a lovely and delicate flower with the poetic common name of “Windflower”. They tend to bloom through spring, summer and fall which make them a perfect accent flower for your spring bouquet. They are adorned with pretty slightly cupped petals in rose, pink or white. They are a very low maintenance floral with a really great fragrance. Anemones are from the buttercup family which give this elegant look of innocence. The beauty about these flowers is that they are perfect for both a modern or vintage wedding.

Daffodils

These bright, sunny and yellow flowers can easily brighten up any ceremony and reception! What a perfect welcoming to spring! They bloom in late winter, early spring making it a perfect floral for spring bouquets. They have a beautiful trumpet structure with a star shaped background and offer thousands of hybrids to choose from if you are wanting a more particular color combination other than just the vibrant yellow. One downside is that they dry out pretty quickly so it is best to figure out a way to keep them in water as long as possible.

Orchids

One of the most expensive floral you could choose for your wedding floral, the orchid is easily distinguishable because of the shape of the twin tubers. They are available year round but usually have to be imported hence the higher price. Despite that, they are a very long lasting floral that can come in a variety of color and size!

Hydrangea

This is probably the most common floral we see here at Briscoe Manor, but how could we not when it is just so simple and elegant? They are large blooms and have the ability to have such deep colors making them diverse. They are inexpensive therefore you can fill up the entire ballroom on a budget! They often retain antique shades of ivory, pink, green, blue and even burgundy. They may also change colors as they bloom. If you’re on a really tight budget with no room for a professional florist, these are a type of flower that you can grow yourself in your own backyard to cut down on costs! It’s a simple google search away! The only downside to this beautiful floral is that is quickly wilts once outside of water so maybe a florist is worth the time and money to ensure they keep!

These stalks of brightly colored flowers are often used as the perfect fillers from your bouquets to your large centerpieces. They are a spring flower but they are considered to have a long blooming period due to the fact that it starts at the bottom of the stalk and works its way up.
